English Learning

Week One - Five: English Language Learning and Literacy

Our campers focused on learning English through interactive lessons and engaging activities. They practiced speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a supportive environment designed to help them build confidence and improve their language skills. Through games, conversations, and guided exercises, campers expanded their vocabulary and strengthened their ability to communicate in English. By the end of the summer, many students showed noticeable progress and felt more comfortable using the language in everyday situations.

Tennis Training

Week One: Tennis Training

This summer, BYL launched our camp with a week of tennis training. Thirty of our campers had the privilege of being coached by a professional tennis instructor. At the start of the week, zero campers knew how to play. By the end, all 30 campers were confidently playing tennis, which reflects their dedication and the quality of instruction they received.

Social Emotional Learning

Week Two: Social Emotional Learning

This week, our campers discovered the power of self-awareness and emotional regulation. Through guided activities, group discussions, and reflection exercises, they received practical tools for managing their emotions, building empathy, and strengthening their communication skills. Campers learned how to navigate challenges with confidence and support one another in creating a positive, respectful community.

Kidpreneur and Arts

Week Three: Kidpreneur & Arts

In the Kidpreneur track, campers learned the foundations of starting a business, including brainstorming ideas, understanding customers, and building a brand. Meanwhile, in the Arts track, campers tapped into their creativity through painting and drawing, exploring different techniques to tell stories and express identity.

STEM Ballet Karate

Week Four: STEM, Ballet & Karate

Campers experienced a dynamic mix of creativity, movement, and innovation. They explored robotics and sustainable communities in STEM, and had the unique opportunity to train with a professional ballerina from France and a karate instructor from Italy, learning discipline, balance, and self-expression.

Flag Football

Week Five: Flag Football & Pitch Week

This week combined teamwork on the field with innovation in the spotlight. Campers learned the fundamentals of flag football through active drills. Off the field, campers pitched the businesses they developed throughout the summer in front of a panel of judges, with top pitches awarded a stipend to bring their ideas to life.

Backpack Giveaway

Backpack Giveaway Day

On the final day of our program, BYL hosted a special backpack giveaway for 200 students across two schools. Each child received a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies to help them start the year prepared and confident. This day was filled with excitement, gratitude, and community spirit as our team connected with students, families, and school staff. It was a meaningful way to close out the summer and continue supporting our young leaders beyond the camp experience.
